An Ambient Album for the Ocean

A Saisons Musique fundraiser for BC Whales

For earth day 2025 we were contacted by a record lable based out of Montreal who had created An Ambient Album for the Ocean — a fundraiser with 100% of net proceeds from Bandcamp supporting @bcwhales and their vital marine conservation work. 

Curated by @koramusique and @saisonsmusique, Origines gathers artists from around the world united by one purpose: to honor and protect our oceans. The title reflects a profound truth — all life on Earth began in the ocean. We are all connected to that ancient, oceanic womb. 

The album features visual artwork by @ioana.todosia @io__studio__io : “Estero”, a cyanotype textile print made on the Pacific Coast of Oaxaca, MX. Created by dipping fabric into the sea and exposing it to sunlight, nature itself becomes the artist — capturing the delicate trace where tide meets shore.

From Montreal to Oaxaca, Oceania to Americas, this international soundscape is both an ambient journey and a call to action.

Each track invites us to reconnect — with ourselves, each other, and our planet — offering moments of reflection, resilience, and renewal.

We hold hope that together, we can be a small drop in the ocean to help protect the sacred waters and the majestic beings that call them home.
